The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Real Estate Development Association (GREDA), Sammy Amegayibor, has welcomed the proposed Legislative Instrument (L.I.) to regulate cement prices but notes it may not fully address the issue.
He believed underlying factors driving price increases need to be addressed, and the Trade Minister should engage with manufacturers to find a solution.
While a price reduction would be welcomed, Amegayibor cautions against a premature implementation of the L.I. without understanding the root causes of the problem.
A collaborative approach is necessary to find a sustainable solution.
