Ghana's Foreign Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, has called for reform of the international financial system to protect vulnerable nations, particularly Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
She urged support for the Bridgetown Initiative, which aims to provide adequate funding for climate action and close infrastructural gaps in low- and middle-income countries.
Botchwey emphasized the need for a more responsive and inclusive global financial system, and highlighted the importance of building economic resilience in developing countries.
