The Tamale High Court, led by Justice Richard Kogyapwah, has ordered a re-run of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primary in Walewale.
The decision follows a legal challenge by incumbent MP Hajia Lariba Zuweratu, who claimed electoral irregularities after narrowly losing the primary to Dr. Mahama Tia Kabiru.
The full judgment will be delivered on September 12, 2024.
This ruling comes just before the filing of nominations for the December 7 elections, raising concerns about potential impacts on the NPP's electoral prospects in the constituency, which is also the home of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
