Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin clarified that he has no role in deciding which party holds the Majority or Minority position, emphasizing that this is determined solely by the number of MPs.
Addressing concerns about recent disputes, Bagbin reaffirmed that democracy requires adherence to the rule of law and assured Ghanaians there is no constitutional crisis.
He criticized the Supreme Court’s decision to halt his declaration of four vacant seats, arguing that Parliament’s rulings are non-judicial and should not be subject to court stays.
The Supreme Court previously dismissed his application, deeming it without merit.
