Former Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu is pushing for the removal of Ghana's "winner-takes-all" political system.
Speaking at a constitutional reform workshop, Iddrisu argued that the system concentrates power in the ruling party, sidelining other political voices and weakening democracy.
He proposed a shift to a proportional representation model, like South Africa’s, to promote inclusivity.
Iddrisu also suggested reducing the president's powers and separating the roles of ministers and MPs, as seen in Kenya, to ensure ministers focus more on national responsibilities rather than local political interests.
