The staff of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) PLC has donated a cash amount of Twenty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 20,000) to the Abokokobi Health Centre as part of activities to mark this year’s Father’s Day celebration.

In making the presentation, the General Manager in charge of Retail Banking, Mr. Alfred Amo-Mensah, who led the team of Staff, said "As part of activities to celebrate this year’s Father’s Day, Staff of ADB, particularly the men, decided to make voluntary contributions for donation to the Abokobi Health Centre as a show of commitment to touching lives and positively impacting communities in different ways." "The donation also complements the Corporate Social Responsibility activities of the Bank (ADB) as a whole." He added.

Mr. Amo-Mensah stated that ADB Staff recognize the role of the Abokobi Health Centre in health service delivery and ensuring the general well-being of the people in the area. “We, therefore, believe that this little donation will go a long way towards supporting your operations and also encouraging others to join in providing more assistance to the health center.” He said.

The donation was received by the administrator, Madam Joyce Mawuse Adams, on behalf of the Abokobi Health Center. She thanked the Staff of ADB for the kind gesture. "This donation will help reduce the financial burden of the health center," she said. "We are very grateful to you (the Staff) and the Management of ADB for the support," she added.

Madam Joyce Mawuse Adams also indicated that the Abokobi Health Centre was in need of more resources to help meet the ever-increasing health service delivery needs of the community and its environs. “Running a healthcare center is a big job, and there are always challenges to face and problems to solve.” She said

“Our greatest strength, however, lies in our passion and commitment to saving lives, even with the limited resources and challenging working conditions. We will continue to find innovative ways to collaborate with corporate institutions and philanthropies to support the operations of the health center." She further stated.

Madam Joyce Mawuse Adams and her team once again thanked ADB Staff for their kind gesture and prayed for them and the Bank as a whole.

The Agricultural Development Bank PLC and its Staff continue to leverage events to touch lives and support the needy and communities through Corporate Social Responsibility activities. In 2021, the Bank was acknowledged and awarded as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Company of the Year by the Ghana Business Awards.
