Born in Hinsdale, Illinois on May 21, 1978, to a businessman and computer saleswoman, Jacob Beckley grew in a suburb about 20 miles west of downtown Chicago. During this time, his father’s great success with business creation; one of which sold to Herman Miller, coupled with his mother’s subsequent advance to the role of a software consultant would forge Jacob’s inherent entrepreneurial and technological frame.
By his 11th birthday, Jacob’s passion to live a life of service to others was also realized, and in the five years to ensure he trained to become a priest. After a rude awakening, however, Jacob came to terms with himself that the robe of the priesthood was not for him and decided to impart his altruistic grace elsewhere.
In his early 20s, following his transfer from Benedictine College (now Benedictine University) in 1995 to the private, non-profit Columbia College Chicago, Jacob earned a degree in Marketing Communication before venturing into the corporate setting to gain much experience under multiple companies over the years.
This phase led to Jacob’s short stint as a graphic designer, before his more established career in web design and development came to be at a time when the internet’s popularity was on the rise. The sky was increasingly becoming Jacob’s only limit from here, culminating in his role of creative director at B|Media (now Fusion 92) in 2001, an interactive digital multimedia agency he currently presides over as Senior Vice President of Innovation, Technology, and Product.
After much success on the career front, it was time for Jacob to return to his childhood passion of service to mankind. This noble journey would lead Jacob and his wife, Rafaela to establish a cornerstone of his altruistic dream, the Beckley Foundation.
The vision would be made official in December 2016, and with a handful of volunteers under a mission statement that read: “A philanthropic endeavor on the part of committed individuals from all walks of life, bound together by the sincere desire to eradicate childhood cancer”, Jacob’s new 501c3 registered non-profit organization was ready to soar, raising ample awareness and donations for pediatric cancer in the years to ahead.
This unbroken commitment of Jacob Beckley took a hit in 2020, but arose from the ashes like a Phoenix and now persists into the future on a much grand stage — as a cryptocurrency evolution that will pave the way for decentralized finance’s newest visionary to revolutionize global healthcare.
