Graduates from the Nobel International Business School (NIBS) have been challenged by the Deputy Rector (Pro-Vice-Chancellor) and Professor of Construction Business & Project Management at the GIMPA, Prof. Martin Morgan Tuuli uses the tools and skills they have acquired to pursue a life of significance to benefit mankind.
He said this while giving the keynote address during the school’s 5th congregation held in Accra.
Prof. Martin Morgan Tuuli told the graduating students, he is confident that their education at NiBS under the guidance of GIMPA has prepared them for the real world of academia or industry.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all graduating students for the fact that they persevered and stuck through all the challenges and difficulties along the way.
According to him, the graduating students are going to face a range of challenges, some of which may seem insurmountable, but throughout it all, they will find the solution within them.
“You graduate at a time when the world needs critical minds to navigate the blurring lines between fake news and the truth or facts, at a time when academics cannot sit on the sidelines but must be part of crafting innovative solutions to the numerous challenges humanity faces,” he said.
“Be creative, show dynamism, question things, don’t take no for an answer, and most importantly, be your own worst critic. Never settle for “just enough”, always push yourself to do more. As you may have discovered in the course of your Ph.D. studies, mistakes are proof that you are trying. Don’t be afraid to make them. And when you get tired, don’t stop, stop when you are done! You must therefore be life-long learners where the real world is your research site or case study.
34 of the graduates graduated in Doctor of Business Administration with 21 in Doctor of Business Leadership and 12 Ph.D.’s in Business Administration.
Some notable personalities who graced the historic doctoral graduation were Richard Yeboah Asante, Deputy Director of NPP communications, Sherry Ayitey of the NDC, Janet Tulasi, former MCE of the Ga East, and Adam's Bonaa, security expert.
Assistant Academic Dean and DBA program, Dr. Hod Anyigba, said the 5th NIBS graduation has been made possible by the strategic partnerships formed with top institutions in Ghana and abroad.
He said NIBS’ research-focused educational model requires students and participants to focus on compelling organizational challenges and seek answers to insightful questions.
Lastly, Dr. Hod Anyigba urged the graduands to go on as practitioner-scholars to lead, discover and share their knowledge in their various fields of endeavor.
