Reps from Ghana Shippers’ Authority after the award
The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) and its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ms. have been honored at the 4th edition of the Ghana Business Awards (GBA) held at Kempinski Hotel in Accra.
The GSA and its CEO picked up the Trade Facilitation Company of the Year (2021) and the CEO of the Year in the Public Sector category awards, respectively for the second consecutive time.
The GSA was honored for its trade facilitation activities such as seminars held on Uncleared Cargo List (UCL) and its effects on the State’s coffers; nationwide education and sensitization campaigns on the promotion of local marine insurance, avoidance of demurrage and rent payments at the ports; removal of non-tariff barriers through regular engagement with stakeholders; nationwide exporters’ fora to build the capacity of exporters; seminars for transit truck drivers; regular engagement with shipping service providers to resolve challenges in cargo handling at the ports, etc.
The CEO’s award recognized her ardent role in leading the GSA in making major interventions in addressing concerns of shippers in Ghana and contributing to trade facilitation.
The two awards were part of 70 awards given to individuals and institutions, both public and private in recognition of their excellent performance and impact on the socio-economic development of Ghana.
The GBA which is organized by Globe Productions aims to promote business excellence nationally and internationally.
