The Odawna Sahara community in Greater Accra faces yearly devastation from seasonal floods.
Five final-year students from the African University College of Communication (AUCC) have launched the "Odawna Flood Resilience Project" to address this issue.
This project includes a siren-based early warning system and designated safe havens, empowering residents to protect lives and property.
At a ceremony on May 30, the project was handed over to the community, with local leaders praising its timely and versatile benefits. The community expressed gratitude and committed to maintaining the system, highlighting its importance in flood resilience.
