A recent outbreak of violence in Bawku, Upper East Region, has claimed the life of young Forex trader Tahiru Danbala, bringing the death toll to 17 since last Friday, including seven women.
The renewed conflict reportedly erupted following the return of rival chief Alhaji Seidu Abagre from exile, triggering gun battles and ambushes on travellers.
In response, the government imposed a 6 PM to 6 AM curfew on October 28, 2024, after an emergency security meeting led by President Akufo-Addo, aiming to restore peace in the affected areas.
Schools and businesses remain closed amidst the escalating violence.
