GWL shuts down Barekese Water Treatment Plant, Achiase Booster for repairs

Ghana Water Ltd (GWL) in the Ashanti Region has shut down the Barekese Water Treatment plant and the Achiase Booster for urgent repairs following a major burst in the 36” (900mm) transmission line supplying water to much of Kumasi.

This damage, caused by construction equipment working on drains from Suame roundabout to Breman Ahenful, has affected areas including Suame, Tafo/Pankrono, Asokwa, Bantama, and others.

GWL assures the public that engineers are diligently working to repair the line and restore water supply promptly once the repairs are completed.
