The Obuasi Goes Agro Association (OGA) has distributed 60,000 oil palm seedlings to farmers in six Adansi Assemblies to reforest lands damaged by illegal mining (galamsey).
This initiative which was announced by AGA Obuasi Mine, aims to boost agriculture and reduce poverty in the Adansi area.
AGA’s Economic Development Superintendent, Daniel Arthur-Bentum, emphasized that the goal is to reclaim depleted lands and create employment opportunities through future oil palm plantations, aligning with the government’s One District One Factory policy.
Beneficiaries of the OGA Programme highlighted the future benefits and financial prospects of oil palm cultivation, enhancing agribusiness involvement.
