The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has praised Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah for his contributions to the region’s development.
Speaking at the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs meeting, Otumfuo lauded Osei Mensah’s humility and dedication, highlighting his efforts in infrastructure projects during his tenure.
Appointed in 2017 and reappointed in 2021, Osei Mensah is the first regional minister in recent history to serve two terms. He showcased achievements, including 1,178 educational projects (900 completed), 74 security service stations, and 28 courts (21 completed).
However, public criticism has emerged over perceived shortcomings in infrastructure and economic challenges under his leadership.
As his tenure nears its end, Otumfuo called for continued efforts until his term is completed.
