Three individuals have been remanded in police custody by the Koforidua Circuit Court B for illegal mining activities in the Birim River, Eastern Region.
Gideon Gabor, Agyemang Meshach, and Boampong Livingston were arrested during a Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners task force operation.
They were charged with conspiracy and mining without a license.
Although the suspects claimed the facts presented by the prosecution were false, they requested bail, promising to cooperate with the court.
The case has been adjourned to November 4, 2024, to allow the prosecution to complete investigations.
