Teachers and students of Zangbalun RC Junior High School in the Northern Region were stranded after the school was locked by Issahaku Osman, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) polling station chairman.

Osman reportedly shut down the facility due to an unpaid government debt of ¢69,400 for renovation work he completed in 2021 after a rainstorm damaged the building.

Despite promises from the local assembly to pay once the work was done, Osman has yet to receive any reimbursement, forcing him to borrow from Bonzali Rural Bank to complete the renovations.

Frustrated by years without payment, Osman decided to lock the school, hoping to prompt action from the assembly.
