Communications and Digitalisation Minister, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, on Sunday, 12 September 2021, met with the Chiefs and people of Esaase and Edawuakurom in the Akontombra constituency on connectivity issues.
The chief of Esaase, Nana Kwaku Ntuah II, called on the government through the minister to as a matter of urgency fix the challenges of network accessibility in the communities.
“I have improvised and gotten a device to provide a network for just the Palace. The whole town does come here for their phone calls and that inconveniences me a lot. I have no privacy in my Palace. Please grant us connectivity,” he told the communications and digitalization minister.
For his part, the Chief of Edawuakurom promised to give the government lands needed for developmental projects in the community.
The minister assured the chief of Esaase, Nana Kwaku Ntuah II of the Akufo-Addo administration’s resolve to bridge the country’s widening digital and network challenges.
Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), is constructing more than 100 telecom masts in the Western North Region and Akontombra Constituency has 14 of them.
