The African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church (Western West Africa Episcopal District) has expressed its condolence to Dr Mrs. Ernestina Naadu Mills, former First Lady, the family, the Government and people of Ghana on the sudden loss of Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, former President of Ghana.
A statement signed by Right Reverend Dr Seth Lartey, Presiding Bishop of the Church to the Ghana News Agency said, “The late President Mills exhibited great commitment, love and dedication working for the welfare of his people and country, and literally gave his life doing so.”
“He was a man of deep faith, principle and discipline, who served with diligence and humility. Indeed, like the Apostle Paul, President Mills has fought a good fight, he run the race well, he kept the faith; and we are confident that he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to all who love Him in Christ Jesus,” it said.
The A.M.E. Zion Church, the statement added saluted this illustrious son of Africa, astute academic, statesman and faithful steward and ambassador of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
“May you find rest in the bosom of the Most Blessed Trinity,” it concluded.**
