One of the leading firms in Ghana, Sub Saharan Publishers in partnership with its mother association Ghana Publishers Association has donated books,Jerseys and other stationery to pupils of  Akropong School For The Blind.

This collaborative effort marks a significant step in bridging the educational divide and promoting literacy among visually impaired students throughout the country.

The team from Sub Saharan Publishers & Ghana Publishers Association also fed the over 300 students and staff of the school with packed lunch.

Sub Saharan Publishers & Ghana Publishers Association  together with German based blind footballer Mulgheta was in the school to, aside from donating to them, dine with the students, play football with them and encourage them .

German based blind footballer Mulgheta who is part of the delegation of Sub Saharan Publishers in his speech admonished the blind students to focus on their talents and not let anything distract them from achieving their goals.

Mulgheta mentioned that the disability of the mind could have a lasting impact on the individual but not physical disabilities.

He however shared words of encouragement with pupils of Akropong School for the blind.

The President of Ghana Publishers Association Mr Asare Konadu Yamoah said great achievements in industry , scientific progress and human growth opportunities have become increasingly a part of our lives and some of these life enhancing opportunities were the

creation of persons who have been deemed disabled.

He mentioned no one is useless in the world. Everyone has a role to play .You need to find your talent and your contributions will be acknowledged.

According to him, if specially challenged people are not provided with resources and enabling conditions for education, health care , ease of access to

public facilities, affordable housing, it will be difficult for them to exhibit their talents and contribute to the development of the state.

" Remember that human nature has been designed to progress and succeed. It is important that you train your mind and thoughts to be the vehicle that will take you to the aspired life" he mentioned.

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Veronica Derry, on behalf of the management of the school and students, expressed her gratitude for the  goodwill done the school by the Sub Saharan Publishers & Ghana Publishers Association association.

She added, equipping these specially challenged pupils  with the necessary resources, students will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and enhance their academic performance.

She, therefore, used the occasion to appeal to other charitable institutions and philanthropists to come to the aid of the school.
