3 Reasons A Partner Cheats On Someone They Love

Mon, 27 Mar 2023 Source: Ghana Trends

The biggest perception around cheating is generally that the person does not love their partner anymore.

While that does ring true, on many occasions many carry on extramarital or any other relationships outside a commitment, and still retain a love for their partner.

And they genuinely do.

This has resulted in other discussions around monogamy, polygamy, polyamory among others. However, today our focus on why people cheat even as they are in a relationship.

1. Sexual dissatisfaction

This one is more common and sometimes strange. It has been noted that in married couples, it may be that the husband or wife believe they cannot engage in certain acts with their partner. This could extend to things such as threesomes and the sort. Others could be specific things, like in a Mafia movie, a character said he would not let his wife give him fellatio, because she kisses his kids with the same lips.

2. Married and Lonely

This one is mostly common in women, but it happens a lot in women. The cheating stems from a need for a connection that fills an emotional void. And it could be the reverse. They may feel incapable of meeting their partner’s emotional needs.

3. There is conflict but noone is talking

Poor communication is one of the worst things for relationships at the worst of times. So when someone is bothered by a partner and they do not talk things out, they can act out in the form of an affair. It is a weird form of revenge, where they feel justified with the act. They don’t want to leave the relationship, but the intention is to feel some twisted form of righteous indignation.

And so the pattern for most of this is lack of communication.
