Abby Mumbi who is a resident of the United Kingdom painfully narrates how her husband followed her to the United Kingdom, and he attempted to kill her two weeks after he arrived there.

According to her, she was born in Kirinyaga in a family of four children. She went to school and when she was at University she met a young man who was also a student there and they fell in love.

She said that after they graduated they got married soon after and she got pregnant. She became a nurse and he was an engineer. He then was able to live a good life and she had three children in the course of their marriage.

After eight years they relocated to Botswana where her husband got a good job. They lived there but in their second year there her husband changed. He became abusive and irresponsible.

She said that this went on until when they relocated back to Kenya. She got a job as a nurse in a hospital and she was able to earn a good salary but her husband kept on abusing her.

She said that she decided to leave him and she rented a house and left. Her husband begged her to get back with him but she refused. She applied for a job in the United Kingdom and when she was about to leave the country. Her husband took the children from her and she left the country without them.

Abby said that after she arrived in the United Kingdom, she got back with her husband and she managed to help them relocate to the United Kingdom. However, he left the children in Kenya and came by himself. She was angry and heartbroken by what he had done and this strained their relationship.

According to her, two weeks after her husband arrived, she came home from work as usual and they argued. Her husband became angry and he attacked her. He bit her nose and when he saw that she was bleeding, he took a knife and started cutting her face. Luckily the neighbours heard the commotion and called the police.

"My husband told me that he wanted to kill me as he cut my face with a knife," Abby said.

The police arrived on time she was rushed to the hospital. Her husband was arrested and after several court sessions, he was jailed for five years. She was treated but she has had over fifteen surgeries to fix the damage her husband had done to her face. She was able to take her children and she lives with them in the United Kingdom. She said that her husband was also deported after he completed his five years jail term.
