Victor Kpakpo Addo, a former Ghanaian hiplife musician and disc jockey has said it takes a divine call for one to become a gospel musician.

Azigiza Jnr said one must seek some guidance when he or she commits to doing the work of God in any form.

Speaking on Asaase Radio’s Between Hours with Naa Ashorkor, Azigiza said: “It is a calling, if you have not been called, don’t go and do it… If you become a born again, you must sit under someone’s feet, someone must train you.”

Azigiza also urged aspiring gospel musicians to evade the thought of making money out of gospel music.

According to him, musicians who venture into gospel with the expectation of making money end up being disappointed.

The reverend minister of the Citizen Fellowship Church said: “If you are coming with a mentality to make money from gospel music forget it. On the other hand, if you are using the talent you said God gave you, how are you using it?”

“If you are using it in the secular world, you can use clean sweet music but if it goes into profanity, you must think twice,” he said.
