An Ilorin-based doctor has urged men and women residing in the Kwara state capital to go and do HIV tests to ascertain their status.
The medic said three girls visited the hospital to get tested for HIV and it came back positive for all of them.
One of the girls was crying and said that she will commit suicide, but she was advised against taking her life.
However, during an interaction with the health professional, she confessed to having slept with about 30 men.
It is on that premise that the doctor advised Ilorin residents to carry out a test on themselves and be sure they are free.
The post reads; “So three girls came in yesterday for HIV test. To my surprise the three are POSITIVE. One of them started crying she would commit suicide, I spoke to her and she said sadly that I have no idea what she has done. Then I was like tell me more. She said if she is right, she has slept with over 30malese in 2022. And 80% were raw.
Kindly do a test if you are in Ilori,n, especially Tanke. With the viral load result, they have been infected for a long time (1-2 years)
My advice: Do a test! Doesn’t matter if you trust your partner. DO TEST! If you use big cars and do big girls, do the test. If you use nothing still do the test. Ilorin is not safe. Just imagine how those guys would have spread it through another girl and so on. Imagine the population that is infected.”
In other news, a Nigerian author and founder, Oyinkansola Alabi has addressed the seeming double standards set for both Christian men and women.
She said when a Christian woman has a partner who cheats, she is usually expected to pray for him whereas when the case is reversed, the man dumps her immediately.
According to the techpreneur, it should be appropriate for the man who catches his wife cheating to be a good Christian and pray for demons to depart from his home, instead of opting for divorce.
Alabi, in a post on her Twitter account, wondered if God is no longer against divorce or if is it only allowed when a woman is a guilty person.
She wrote; ”Christian women have been sentenced to WAR ROOM for years to pray for cheating men but the moment a Christian man catches his wife cheating, he divorces her.
Can’t he pray too? Can’t he bind the demons that want to destroy his home? Or has God stopped hating divorce?”
