The Ghana star player and midfielder of the top Premier League side, Arsenal, Thomas Party has dedicated his goal to the former Ghana player, Christian Astu who died as a result of the earthquake in Turkey. It was reported that there was a heavy earthquake that destroyed the southern part of Turkey on the 6th of February. Many Turkish citizens and foreigners were killed in the disaster including the Ghana football star who died due to the injury sustained at the incident.
Following the death of Christian Astu, the Ghana star player dedicated his goal to his teammate and colleague, Astu after Arsenal defeated Bournemouth 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium today. While celebrating the goal he displayed a write-up showing some words of sympathy to the deceased player saying "rest well Christian Astu".
Also, the family of the late football star has organized a one-week memorial ceremony for him at the Adjiriganor Astroturf Park in Ghana. While his final funeral rites will be done on the 17th of March, 2023 at the Forecourt, Ghana State House.
