Here is why you fall asleep within minutes of having Sex

Sun, 15 Jan 2023 Source: Ghana Trends

According to an article published by men's health, Why you fall asleep within minutes of having s£x.

After intimacy, the same thing occurs every night in beds all across the world: Men go asleep peacefully, and women awaken huskily cursing the name of their sleeping companion.

Male post-coital sleepiness is caused by the prolactin hormone. Prolactin inhibits dopamine, a stimulant neurotransmitter that makes you feel awake.

However, prolactin is not the only reason you have trouble keeping eye contact.

The "feel-good" hormone oxytocin also rises during intercourse, which can assist in clearing your mind of any negative thoughts and promoting subsequent relaxation and sleep.

Additionally, your body's biological clock will signal that it is time for bed if you participate in intimate activities after dark. At that point, the melatonin hormone starts your sleep cycle.

When they work together, prolactin, oxytocin, and melatonin make the ideal sleeping trifecta.

But what if you don't want to feel exhausted afterwards?

You and your friend ought to possibly remain up a little later. Or perhaps you've just returned from a midday adventure and want to maximize the rest of the day (or at least be a functioning human being, and not a zombie).

Make sure the lights are on as well. Your sleep cycle won't be disturbed in this way.

Get out of bed when you're finished. Throughout your lifetime, your brain has come to associate sleeping with being in bed.

You won't be able to withstand the urge to go to bed if you just lie there quietly. So no cuddling is permitted.
