Ghanaian musician, Quamina MP has revealed that he left his hometown, Mankessim in the Central Region for Accra with just GH₵5.
He made this revelation on United Showbiz during an interview with MzGee last Saturday.
Talking about the challenges he faced coming up as a young musician, Quamina MP said, right after Senior High School, he desperately wanted to break through with his music.
For this reason, he one day took some belonging, and without informing his parents, he left Mankessim for Accra to search for greener pastures in his musical journey.
He revealed that at the time, the fare from Mankessim to Accra was GH₵3, and with GH₵5 on him, he left.
The Wiase Y3d3 hitmaker said, after he alighted at Kaneshie first light, he was left with only GH₵2 and had to call a friend, one Mantse, a High School mate to sort him out.
Unfortunately, they did not have enough space, for this reason, Quamina MP had to accept an offer to sleep in a kiosk meant for the printing of papers.
“I was told to the only time I could sleep was from 12 am to 4 am, because the Printing Press workers needed to report to work at 5 am,” he revealed.
Quamina MP added that this same friend introduced him to a studio, and later to another producer, Koby Melody, where he helped as an intern, a process which changed his life.
