In the early hours of today, the BBC News Pidgin granted a 26 year-old amputee named Samuel Odugbesan an interview where he narrated how he lost his two hands as an electrician.

Samuel Odugbesan said, "I was told not to go to work the day I lost my two (2) hands but I refused. I told my friend I will join him later at our friend's wedding in Abeokuta without knowing I will be electrocuted on that day." He added, "before I started work that day, the power was put off but how it suddenly came on when I was working is what I cannot explain."

Narrating further, Samuel Odugbesan said, "after being electrocuted, they said if I want to live, I should forget about my two hands. I never wanted to agree before but my mother told me to accept it as fate and I did."

Again, Samuel Odugbesan said, "on that day, I observed all the safety precautions. If not for the hand gloves I even used, I may be a dead man by now because most people who experience this don't live to tell the story."

Lastly, Samuel Odugbesan said, "before I left hospital, I already started operating my phone with my leg. Now, whenever I want to bathe, eat and do other things, my brothers help me. Most of my friends also help me without grumbling. I can't blame anyone for the incident and I still thank God for giving me another chance to be alive."
