Singer Maya Blu has said that while she wanted to be an actress but ended up a singer, her mother wanted her to be a nurse or teacher.
The Lynx Entertainment signee spoke on The Big Show on Class 91.3 FM.
“My mom actually wanted me to go for either nursing training or teachers college,” Maya Blu said, adding that she declined.
“I’m a rebel,” she explained. “I do what I want to do and my dad is always in support of whatever I bring to the table.
“So far as it’s going to help me get somewhere, he’ll support you like hundred per cent.”
She stressed how her father was with her “throughout all the competitions” she has participated in including MTN Hitmaker.
She called her father, Mr Emmanuel Wilberforce, her “number one supporter” and revealed that he “sings” and “he loves music.”
Concerning her mother, Ms Blu said though “she’s cool now” and actually “can’t really do anything about” my decision, her posture is “You said you’d do it so we’ll see what you do.”
“And it’s picking up,” the Sho hitmaker added, indicating she sees signs of success.
