On March 8, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is scheduled to give the State of the Nation Address (SONA) to Parliament.
To that effect, Members of Parliament (MPs), the Speaker, and the Judiciary are required to receive the President’s message on the Condition of the Country under Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.
On this note, the Deputy Majority Leader, Mr. Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, urged MPs to be on time and seated in the Chamber by 09:15 hours, at the latest, for the SONA and advised them not to enter the Chamber with their guests.
He made these statements when he was presenting the Business Statement of the House for the week.
Moreover, he stated that a motion to thank the president for the State of the Union address will be introduced on March 9 and that the debate would continue for six days, from March 9 to March 17.
