Reasons Women Menstruate Twice In A Month

Fri, 12 May 2023 Source: Ghana Trends

A productive woman's menstrual cycle may happen every 24 to 38 days, and 28 to 40 days in teenagers and pre-teens. As the month goes by, most ladies may experience variation in their periods. While some may see their periods earlier than usual, others may see theirs late, and some may see theirs twice in a month. This is because every woman is unique and this could lead to their variation in periods.

According to Healthline andMedicalnewstoday, below are some of the reasons why a woman may experience her menstrual cycle twice a month or longer than usual, as well as what to take note of before seeing your doctor if you ever have this experience.

Firstly, it could be as a result of Endometriosis.

This is a disorder that may manifest as unusual cramp, excess bleeding, and chronic abdominal pain. Endometriotis may occur if the tissue with uterine characteristics begins to grow outside of the uterus. The excess bleeding caused by this disorder may look like a fresh menstrual period.

According to research, endometriotis can be diagnosed by pelvic exams or the use of ultrasounds.

Secondly, the onset of menopause.

When a woman begins to mature and age towards menopause, she begins to experience some hormonal changes known as perimenopause, which may last up to 10 years of her life. During perimenopause, a woman's menstrual cycle may skip. She might as well experience a heavier flow of blood, and a shorter or longer than the usual period. If a woman doesn't have her period for 12 consecutive months, it may be said that menopause has occurred.

Thirdly, it could be as a result of uterine fibroid

It is common for the uterus to experience fibroid tumors and even though fibroids are mild, they could result in bleeding during a woman's period. Aside the blood flow, fibroid may show up as frequent peeing or back pain.

Even though the main cause of urine fibroid is not known, studies have shown that they are hereditary and could cause changes in hormone levels. Ultrasounds or pelvic exams can sometimes be used to diagnose this problem.

It is important to note that it doesn't necessarily mean you have a disorder if your period appears twice in a roll. However, if you ever have this experience or notice an impediment to your flow, you should see a doctor.

Below are major signs to look out for before running to your doctor.

First, if you experience pain in your lower abdomen that lasts for more than 3 to 4 days, see your doctor.

Secondly, if your cramp level increases all through your menstruation period.

Thirdly, if your blood flow level increases in a more significantly high amount in between your periods, you might want to see a health care person.

Finally, if you experience usual pain than what you usually experience during your period, see your doctor!.
