SENSITIVE: Some people are evil, she was killed and burned

Mon, 13 Feb 2023 Source: Ghana Trends

Every morning when we wake up, there are new headlines about South African women who have been murdered. Gender-based violence appears to be a reoccurring issue in this country.

The fact that the people who live with them are killing them is an even more disturbing situation. We all believed that by 2023, things would be better, but there have already been over 15 instances of women and children killed as a result of gender-based violence.

In the same vein, another woman has been discovered dead: Susie, who was murdered by her fiancé. The burnt bones of a lady named Siphithemba Nyide, 34, were discovered in Inanda in May 2022. Siphithemba left without a trace a few days after being seen with the guy she called her "fiance" for the last time in Mshozi, KwaNgcolosi, KwaZulu Natal, while on her way to meet her family in Folweni.

According to the charges, villagers saw a man racing after Siphithemba. According to the charges, no one helped her because two males approached them and threatened to kill anyone who aided her.

The person who was engaged to her has been arrested and charged with her murder. May her soul rest in peace, and may justice be served and everyone involved in her death is held accountable.

If the South African government wants to stop gender-based violence, it must reinstate the death sentence, in my opinion. Many people will be afraid to conduct crimes because they know that if they are caught, it will be the end of them.

To all the men out there, let us do better; let us protect our sisters and mothers. And to all my sisters out there, don't settle for less and don't die silently; rather speak up and be killed than die slowly and silently.
