The body of the 8 University students, who lost their lives in a car accident. The sad incident happened on Saturday, 18th February 2023 at the TTC/Special Science School junction, while the students were going home because the school had to close early.
The accident killed 8 students while 7 students survived the incident with different injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital (the Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital).
The mass burial of the 8 students was held on Tuesday morning, February 21, at the Magami Christian Cemetery in Jalingo, Taraba State. The elder brother of one of the victims, who identified himself as Tony Matinjah on Facebook shared pictures from the mass burial while mourning his younger brother.
A Facebook user, Tony Matinjah identified one of the victims as his brother, Amamzala Donald Matinjah, a 300-level Optometry student. According to the post, he said, “With A heavy heart, I announce the painful exit of my younger brother, Amamzala Donald Matinja.”
