Ghanaian rapper/musician and record producer, Kwame Ametepee Tsikata, known professionally as M.anifest has disclosed that the Ghana music industry is sexist and for that reason has affected the growth of a lot of women in the space.
In an interview with the BBC, ‘the god mc’ said that women in the music space in Ghana are unable to operate due to the sexist nature of the environment as compared to their male counterparts.
“The truth about why there aren’t many women involved in hiplife and in the music space is that the space unfortunately is still quite sexist
M.anifest added that every successful music scene in the world is flooded with women, adding “so, if we want to succeed, bring the gals dem[sic].”
