Many people in the world are fans of Messi as he is considered the greatest footballer. He also has his fan base in Africa, visiting two of the countries on the continent. They include;
1. South Africa
In 2010, Messi visited South Africa when he played for Argentina under the wings of Maradona as a coach in first ever African Hosted World Cup.
He visited South Africa the second time when Barcelona played the Mandela Centenary Cup in 2018 against Mamelodi Sundowns.
2. Gabon
The Paris Saint-Germain legend visited Gabon in 2017 to lay the first stone for the construction of a new stadium in Gabon, as they were preparing to host the African Cup of Nations. He was invited by the then president of the country who is a stunt fan of Barcelona.
