Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong believes Asamoah Gyan will be a great addition to the Ghana team at the World Cup.

The former Black Stars captain has not played for the Black Stars since the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong said: “His presence alone will make a difference, so when they are going and they send old players along to motivate them, it can be a game changer.”

According to him, although the former Sunderland FC striker is old, he will be a good influence on the Black Stars at this year’s world cup if he is taken to Qatar.

“He is an old man; he is an old man… but he can motivate the team.

“His presence alone will make a difference, so when they are going and they send old players along to motivate them, it can be a game changer,” Kennedy Agyapong told Happy FM in an interview.

The mogul business man and MP added, “So the role of old players like Asamoah Gyan cannot be discounted, they must be sent to boost the morale of the young ones. But from what I saw from the games against Nigeria, we can go far.”

Asamoah Gyan remains Africa's all-time leading scorer at the Mundial, with six goals in three World Cup appearances. The Black Stars all-time leading scorer has been inactive for over a year now.

What do you think? Should Asamoah Gyan be included in the squad to Qatar 2022?
