Can You Identify This Man in Ghana?

This man is Robert Kafui Kofi Dey, a Ghanaian Broadcaster, an MC, an author. Over 2 decades he has interviewed over one thousand guests on radio and TV stations in Ghana.

The award-winning broadcaster Kafui Dey wore this to celebrate May Day on Monday 2, 2022.

This international holiday is observed on May 1st. The first May Day celebrations focused mainly on workers. The holiday may also be known as International Worker's Day or May Day and is marked with a public holiday in over 80 countries.

May Day in Ghana

Ghanaian workers observed their first May Day in 1960 and Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, was declared the "First Number One Worker" and decorated with a May Day Award by the Trades Union Congress.

The May Day celebration was suspended for a year in 1966 following the first military coup which toppled Dr. Nkrumah's Government in February of that year. The celebration was resumed a year later in 1967 till now.
