Reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year and sensational highlife/afrobeat artist Dennis Nana Dwamena, known in the music industry as KiDi, reveals his dream to collaborate with Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba on a song.
He said; “I have a song that I’ve told my team that this song will never come out until I have Daddy Lumba on it.”
The artist of the year pleaded, “Daddy, with all due respect, I want to have you on that song.”
Sharing why he wants the highlife legend on his song with Giovani on 3FM Drive, KiDi explained that Daddy Limba is his father’s favourite artist.
“Daddy Lumba is my dad’s favourite artist growing up. I would play his songs every morning. I can sing a lot of his songs,” he disclosed.
When asked if his team has approached Daddy Lumba, KiDi responded, “I was supposed to meet him at a show at the National Theatre, but I left earlier. I don’t want our conversation to be on the phone. I want to meet him in person and tell him, ‘Daddy, I want you on a song’. I want to meet the greatest musician.”
He also announced that the yet-to-be released song follows the same genre as Touch It and Blessed.
