Find Out the Reason Why FDA Is Investigating Indomie Chicken Flavour Noodles On the Market

Rwanda Food and Drug Authority has launched an inspection into the ‘indomie chicken flavour’ product over health concerns.

The product, which is imported from Kenya, is said to have high levels of aflatoxin. Rwanda FDA hence asks traders to stop importing it for now.

However, the Food and Drugs Authority, FDA, has taken action by sampling the chicken flavour of popular noodle brand Indomie amidst a ban on importation in Rwanda.

A statement from the regulatory agency indicated that it had taken notice of the recall in the other African countries on the suspected presence of high levels of aflatoxins and pesticides in the product.

It noted that Indomie Instant Chicken Noodles with “Ladha Ya Kuku” on the label was not a registered product in Ghana.
