The whole world is watching the unfolding crises in Ukraine. Russia has launched a military exercise in Ukraine that many countries all over the world have condemned. So far many lives and properties have been lost. Many nationals have also left the country.

In a press conference last Sunday, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, the Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that many Ghanaian students who were caught in the crossfire have already left Ukraine for neighboring countries like Poland, Turkey, Hungary etc.

She promised that some students who have left Ukraine will be brought back home as the ministry works with their colleague authorities in the various countries.

Today, the first batch of 17 students have arrived at the Kotoka International Airport. They were received by the Deputy Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakr. Sixteen of the students came by Qatar Airways while one came by Turkish Airlines.

According to the Ministry, many more students are due to return soon. The students in return thank the Ministry for the help in bringing them back home.
