Marriage is the legally or formally recognized union of two people as partners in a personal relationship (historically and in some jurisdictions specifically a union between a man and a woman).

-How Much Does It Cost to Get Married in Ghana?

The filing of a Notice of Marriage and the issuance of a Registrar’s Certificate costs GHS85. 00, while the Celebration of Marriage costs GHS160. 00. (Official Marriage Ceremony) and GHC160.00 for Marriage Celebration (Official Marriage Ceremony).

The total charge for marriage registration under the ordinance at the Marriage Registry is around GHS245.00.

NB: These fees are in effect for the 2019 fiscal year and may change in the following years.

-How Do I Register My Marriage in Ghana?

• One or both of the applicants must be citizens of Ghana.

• Applications of marriage must be made at the registrar of marriages in the district in which

applicants live.

• Application forms are obtained from the office of the registrar; they should be completed and

required document’s attached before submission.
