“I Won't Give My 11-Year-Old Son a Mobile Phone”-Cristiano Ronaldo Explains

Manchester Superstar player Cristiano Ronaldo has explained the reason why he hasn't given his son Cristiano Jr, a mobile phone yet because he doesn't want him to become 'exposed to technology' after receiving the Globe Soccer's Top Scorer of All Time award in Dubai.

Cristiano Ronaldo is taking steps to make sure his children have restricted access to technology amid fears over the younger generation's relationship with devices.

Cristiano Jnr, currently 11 years old, has recently been asking for his first mobile phone from his father, but Cristiano Ronaldo is wary of children being too exposed to technology at early stage.

Ronaldo said, "For example, I can give you a small impression. My oldest child is going to be 12 years old soon and he asks me every time, 'Daddy, can I have a phone, can I have a phone, can I have a phone. ‘I say to him, 'Cristiano Jr, you have time.”

He added, "I know as well that this young generation are one step ahead of their age so I agree that we have to take advantage of that but not to be obsessed about technology.”

Did Cristiano Ronaldo Come from A Poor Family?

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born in 1985 in São Pedro on Madeira in Portugal, he was The fourth and youngest child in the family but he grew up in Santo António. Ronaldo grew up poor, having to share the same room with all three of his siblings.

So, his poor background definitely helped him to make good decision not to offer mobile phone to his son at that early age. "Give them but with a period of time, not give them all the time. I think that’s the main point here." He concluded.
