The Honorary Vice President of policy think tank Imani Africa; Bright Simmons has boldly revealed surprising details about the Achimota Forest Reserve. He mentioned that about 70% of the forest is no more for Ghana.

Achimota Forest has been the talk of the country this week after it was known that the late Sir John Willed a portion of the forest to one family member of his. There have been a lot of allegations thereafter that the forest is being sold by the Akufo-Addo.

While speaking on “Newsfile on Joy News”, Bright Simmons revealed that about 70% of the Achimota Forest is now gone and doesn’t be to Ghana anymore but to certain individuals.

“The EI 154 suggests that because the former President, John Mahama intended to make a part of it an eco-tourism park and a part of it to be given back to the Owoo family, for that reason, we need to now leave a segment as the forest reserve. The land (left) specified in the schedule is 372.75 acres. You go back to the original area as recognized by the instrument itself and you do a subtraction to see which part has been declassified. When you do that math, 70% of it is gone, the majority of the forest reserve is gone.” The Vice President of Imani Africa, Bright Simmons revealed this on Joy News.
