Latest Update On the Payment of February Salaries to Public Sector Workers

Wed, 2 Mar 2022 Source: Michael Djan

Public sector workers are in shock as the payment of salaries has been delayed for the month of February 2022. Many have asked questions about the causes of the delay in the payment of salaries by the government. As at 2nd March 2022, the salaries are not yet in.

Many have attributed the situation to the decision of Ghanaians not to accept the e-levy.

The Reality

Well, the current report gathered reveals that the Controller and Accountant General Department (CAGD) has made payment for the month of February 2022. This is evident by the availability of payslips for the February month.

However, unconfirmed information made available indicates that with orders from the government of the Republic of Ghana, all salary payments for all public sector workers are suspended until further notice.

According to the information gathered, salaries had been paid for the February month, but upon the directives given by the Government, there was no option but to comply.

“CAGD has made payment already for the month of February since February 25th, 2022, but in response to the directives, all banks were asked to suspend disbursement until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience”.
