No UCC Graduate Will Be a Member of the Unemployed Graduates Association-VC Reveals

According to the information gathered by Mynewsgh.com, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof Johnson Nyarko Boampong has stated emphatically that the institution has established an innovation hub and design unit to train students so that when they complete their various programme of study, they will not join the Unemployed Graduates Association.

“Unemployment situation rendered some of our graduate students to join unemployed Graduates Association and I promised no students graduated from this institution this time around will join a wrong association”, University Don assured.

“We must conduct cutting-edge research, strengthen our local and international research collaborations to build research capacities, forge strong academia-industry partnerships and harness innovations for entrepreneurial drive and sustainable development” he urged.

According to the VC, the maiden report is envisaged to improve the university’s viability and attract more research collaborations and partnerships with key industry players and other academic and research institutions.

The launch was on the theme “Academia-Industry Innovation Matchmaking: Practical Steps for 21st Century Universities”.

“We need academia to work within the industry to ensure that we build innovative system and processes in this country that is economical for us to use to build this country” she added.
