The Chair of Ghana's Parliament's Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, has announced that the UK Parliament has invited members of the Ghanaian Parliament's Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee to a meeting to discuss the anti-gay bill.

In an exclusive interview with TV3, he said that the MPs will fly out of Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Sunday, June 12 and arrive at the meeting on Monday, June 13.

"The Speaker received the invitation and referred it to the Committee. This critical meeting will be attended by four members of the committee, including myself and the ranking member.

We leave on Sunday; we were scheduled to go tonight, but due to flying arrangements, we will leave on Sunday, so we will walk into the conference on Monday morning and be done by Wednesday," he remarked on Saturday, June 11.

The contentious bill has polarized Ghanaian opinion. While some, notably religious and traditional groups, are in favor of the bill and optimistic that it will succeed, others fear that it will enrage the world community.

So, Ghanaians want to know, why should UK invite our MPs for a discussion on LGBTQ+?

We shouldn’t forget that our culture differs from theirs even before their ancestors set foot in Gold Coast know today as Ghana.
