On May 8th, 1971, Brazilian football legend, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, made a visit to Ghana.
Pelé, is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, his skills and technique were on full display, and he scored several goals throughout matches he featured in, much to the delight of the fans.
Pele was invited to the country by the Government of Ghana to participate in a series of exhibition matches and promote the sport of football.
During his visit, Pelé was welcomed by thousands of fans at the airport, and was given a warm reception throughout his stay in the country.
Pelé also used his visit to Ghana as an opportunity to promote the sport and encourage the development of football in the country. He met with government officials and local football clubs, and participated in a number of events and activities aimed at promoting the sport.
Pelé's visit to Ghana was a huge success, and he left a lasting impression on the people of the country.
