Ghana is among five countries in Africa to have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar this year. The other four include, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and Cameroon.

Ghana qualified to be part of the 32 countries participating in the through the away goal rule at the expense of the super eagles of Nigeria.

Ghana having qualified for the tournament is going to receive a sum of 12 million US dollars before the tournament will be held.

All countries will receive an initial amount of 2 million dollars from FIFA before the World Cup tournament. They will also receive an additional 10 million dollars from FIFA before the group stages serving as somewhat of a participation fee for the tournament.

This means that all 32 countries will be receiving an amount of 12 US dollars in total before the start of the tournament to start as a token for qualification and participation.

The runner-up in the 2022 World Cup will receive $40 million and the winner of the tournament will receive $50 million.

The 2022 World Cup will begin on November 21, 2022, and end on December 18, 2022.

Personally, I think, when the money is received, it could be used as a source of motivation to serve our players well. Also, the money can be used to promote football in the country, change our pitches to somehow international standards.

For that matter, proper accountability and transparency are needed instead of telling us Kweku ananse stories.
