A 42 years old woman died after going to her spiritual father's church for prayers. It was reported that Mrs Ama Nkansah went to Pastor Owusu's congregation for prayers on 25th April 2023 at Akyem Asawase as she typically do.
She was severely burned when she got home, but she didn't tell anyone what had happened to her. When her condition got worse, she was admitted to the Oda government hospital. She was later transferred to the Korle bu teaching hospital, where her death was confirmed.
The family of the deceased went to Pastor Owusu's church because they were suspicious about her death and found that the spiritual oil and candles he was using for prayers had caught fire, injuring both her and the pastor. The family filed a report at the police station and the pastor was arrested.
