On Wednesday, January 10, 2024, Chef Faila's attempt to set a new record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual was unsuccessful after 227 hours of cooking. The cook-a-thon was originally scheduled to begin on January 1, 2024, at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, and run for five days.
