Charles Kwadwo Fosu is an award-winning Ghanaian musician with a career spanning three decades. He is regarded by many as the greatest Ghanaian musician of all time. Daddy Lumba has about 34 albums to his name.

He was born on 29 September 1964 in Nsuta, Ashanti Region of Ghana. His parents, Owoahene Kwadwo Fosu and Comfort Gyamfi, popularly known as Ama Saah were both teachers.

Daddy Lumba is a product of the Juaben Senior High School and was the leader of the school choir. It was while in school that he formed the Lumba Brothers with his friends Yaw and Kwabena and his girlfriend, Theresa Abebrese. He traveled to Germany after school to seek greener pastures with the help of his girlfriend.

He met Ernest Nana Acheampong while in Germany who had a group already with a white man called the Talking Drum. Daddy Lumba at the time was only familiar with gospel music and to this day, credits Nana Acheampong for introducing him to highlife. They both came together and re-formed the group, Lumba Brothers.

In 19867, due to financial constraints, they could not release their album but due to the help of their producer Akosua Serwaa who also happened to be Lumba's wife the album was released in 1989. The album is called "Yeeye Aka Akwantuo Mu."

Daddy Lumba has helped close to 15 Ghanaian musicians with their careers most especially Ofori Amponsah in 1999 through his blockbuster hit album Woho Kyere.

His solo career has not been devoid of controversy; one moment he would release a gospel album and the next he would shock people with his provocative lyrics and music videos. He has also faced accusations of skin bleaching. He has however denied bleaching his skin.

Yvonne Ohene Djan, professionally known as SHE was a back singer for most of his songs.

His mother died in 2001 in Kumasi. Her death took a toll on Daddy Lumba. His songs, including "Anidaso? W?h? Ma Obiara", "Ohia As?m", "?mmere Pa B?ba", "Agya Bi Wua Agya Bi Tease", were dedicated to her.

He is married with 10 children.
